DAY 1:: ARRIVAL IN RWANDA: KIGALI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
DAY 2-4 GORILLAS & GOLDEN MONKEY TREKKING IN VOLCANOES NATIONAL PARK
DAY 5: HIKE TO DIAN FOSSEY’S GRAVE
DAY 6: DEPARTURE
Day 1:: Arrival in Rwanda: Kigali International Airport
Upon arrival, you will be transferred to Ruhengeri for an overnight. The journey goes through beautiful rolling / majestic hills of Rwanda. Dinner and overnight at Gorilla Hotel or Mountain Gorilla View Lodge. FB
Day 2-4 Gorillas & Golden Monkey Trekking in Volcanoes National Park
After an early breakfast, you will drive to park the headquarters with a packed lunch and water and have a briefing about the ‘Dos’ and ‘Don’ts’ while with gorillas. Gorilla trekking through steep and slippery Virunga jungle grounds can be very strenuous but is at times very easy, overall taking anywhere from 2-8 hours depending on gorillas’ movements. We will have one hour with these gentle giants, later descending to your lodge for a rest.
Little is known about the mannerisms of the Golden Monkeys except for the fact that they lives in social groups, usually of approximately 30 individuals. It is an exceptional experience seeing them feed on fruits, leaves and insects. Dinner and overnight at Gorilla Hotel or Mountain Gorilla View Lodge. FB

Day 5: Hike to Dian Fossey’s Grave
Early breakfast is followed by a hike to Dian Fossey’s grave, situated at the former Karisoke Research Center. This is where Dian spent about 20 years studying the Mountain Gorillas. The trek to the site is quite spectacular, passes through thick bamboo forest and afro- montane habitats, with criss-crossed trails with tracks of forest buffalo and elephant! Expect to see all sorts of wildlife on our way up and down to the gravesite, nestled between the beautiful volcanic peaks of Karismbi and Visoke. The hike takes between 4-6 hours round trip.
We will transfer to Kigali this evening, a drive of approximately 2.5 hours. FB.
Day 6: Departure
Have breakfast and then undertake a city tour with a visit to the Genocide Memorial sites like Gisozi, Nyamata and Ntarama, and the market, with lunch in Kigali and later transfer to the Airport for you flight back home.
