3 Days Bwindi Gorilla Safari

This trip starts in Kigali all the way to the impenetrable forests of bwindi home to half of the remaining population of  the mounting Gorillas. within the misty montane forest lie a vast wealth of biodiversity, although the mountain gorillas remain the most sought after attraction in this ancient jungle and Africa at large. we mill trek through the forested slopes led by an experienced guide. the experience is rewarding as you seat within a few meters with the mountain gorillas. the hour allowed quickly passes as you are lost in admiration f these giants. however there is more to the large green daunting drapes than the Gorillas.Bwindi was named as one of the best birding sites in Africa due to the rich diversity among which are the albertine rift endemics. other spps include the forest elephant, chimpanzees, antelopes beautiful falls and plants among other. come get upclose with man’s closest counsin, see how much they resemble humans.

Day 1: Arrival in Kigali for our gorilla safari

Departing from Kigali you will be welcomed by our expert guide who will provide knowledge and assistance throughout your safari. Your journey takes you through the beautiful terraced hills to the forested slopes of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.

The journey through the rapidly changing landscape takes you to Gorilla Mist Camp In Bwindi, which faces the towering trees of the surrounding forest. Depending on when you arrive, there may be time before dinner to explore the lodge grounds and the surrounding local community with its clear mountain stream or visit the local village. Dinner and overnight stay Gorilla Mist Camp or buhoma community camp. (B,L,D)

Day 2: Gorilla Tracking i Bwindi National Park

After enjoying an early breakfast, you set off gorilla tracking. Trekking through the steep, densely forested hills and then finally coming across the gorillas camouflaged in the vegetation is an inspiring and privileged moment. Tracking in the Bwindi forest requires stamina and can often take most of the day. Alternatively there are other activities and excursions on offer in and around the national park:

Take a guided walk in the rainforest, home to several endemic bird species, clouds of butterflies and rare plant life. This walk offers excellent photographic opportunities and our knowledgeable guide will provide a great insight into this globally important habitat. We stay at Gorilla Mist Camp or buhoma community camp. (B,L,D)

Day 3: Departure

Your safari ends with your journey back to Kigali. Before transferring to the airport, there may be time to tour the city and visit the genocide memorial, a moving testimony to this country’s past that it has courageously overcome. Return to your hotel or transfer to the airport in time for your return flight back home. (B, L)
